Vintage Cognac Leather Wingback Chesterfield Arm Chair, England circa 1940
Description
- Very comfortable high quality vintage leather Chesterfield wingback club chair with a beautiful rich patination, circa 1940s
- These armchairs were typically placed near an open fire; the reason for the large side pieces, known as "wings," was to retain the radiant heat of the fire and provide protection from drafts. You can imagine how cozy that must have been
- Nice rolled scrolling arms, wooden block feet, loose feathered cushion, a deep-buttoned upholstered back and close-nailed brass stud detailing
- The chair has a decoratively aged golden cognac colored leather with a unique and distinctive rich polish that can only be achieved through years of care and maintenance.
Very desirable!
The armchair is in excellent used condition, with signs of age and wear consistent with its age. No damage or repairs.
