Antique Mahogany Chippendale Claw & Ball Carved Bergere Fauteuil/ Armchair with Caned Backrest

This unique model Chippendale style carved Bergere fauteuil from around the 1850s has beautiful shaped cabriole legs with Lion's claw and ball feet, elaborate carvings with scrolls and shell motifs
The cane/rattan on the backrest is in very good condition. The rattan on the seat has been removed and a wooden plate has been attached to the seat, allowing for a cushion to be placed. Currently, a rustic natural sheep's wool checkered fabric cushion rests on it, but you can, of course, add a cushion of your own choice or put an upholstery.
This antique solid mahogany armchair is structurally sound en very nicely carved. The wood has a lovely antique worn patina
