Rimini Blu Aldo Londi vase for Bitossi, model 530/25 circa 1960
Description
Designed by master ceramicist Aldo Londi, then artistic director at Bitossi, the Rimini Blu series was officially launched for Bitossi Ceramiche in 1959. He created a permanent catalogue at the time, including model 530.
Fully handmade, featuring the collection's characteristic vibrant, striking hand-carved indentations and stamped geometric relief patterns in deep cobalt blue and turquoise hues, inspired by Mediterranean life.
The glaze is applied by hand which creates the distinctive depth and texture.
Manufactured in Montelupo Fiorentino, a region known for its pottery since the Renaissance.
In perfect condition.
On the bottom is the original "Made in Italy" sticker with design number 530/25 (530 represents the model number and 25 represents the height of the vase).
The series experienced its absolute peak in popularity in the 1960s, and this specific vase dates from this era
These stickers were used at the time for the distribution to major international design importers (such as Raymor in the United States). This is therefore an original, authentic piece of Italian mid-century design from the 1960s.
