The Gebroeders De Wit factory of Steel Furniture in Schiedam 1946 to 1977.
This rare model from the early 1950s has a gray tubular steel frame. including round footrest, wooden seat and backrest.
This chair was originally upholstered, now in clean birch wood
The chair is a swivel chair and adjustable in height (seat height goes from 66 cm to 84 cm).
The backrest is also adjustable, both in height and from front to back
Seat is 44 cm wide x 40 cm deep
In their small furniture factory in Schiedam (founded in 1946), the brothers Toon and Martien de Wit mainly designed and produced tubular frame furniture for offices and homes. Inspired by designers from the Bauhaus school, they made furniture in which they strived for the ultimate seating comfort and technical perfection. In 1977, the manufacture and sale was ended. Their furniture is still very popular with a large audience.
