Charlotte Perriand "Les Arcs" barstool, 1960s
Description
Original Charlotte Perriand (French, 1903-1999) "Les Arcs" bar stool, 1960s.
Beautiful, weathered brown saddle leather seat on a chrome frame.
Patina due to age and use, such as stains on the leather seat (see photos).
The frame is in very good condition (in the photo, the frame occasionally appears to have a golden glow, but this is due to the lighting; it is a chrome-plated steel frame).
Charlotte Perriand focused on functionalism and the democratization of furniture, where the stools had to meet the demands of intensive use in chalets. Visible screws were functional in that context and fits the robust, industrial aesthetic of the 60s and 70s.
Dimensions: H 95 cm, seat height 74/75 cm, 41 cm wide and 44 cm deep.
