We are happy to present this great couple of rare vintage Ecuadorian brown saddle leather ottomans/poufs decorated with Mayan motifs.
Beautiful and intricate saddle leather hand-tooled embossed with Maya -inspired decorations by Angel Pazmino for Meubles de Estilo in Ecuador, Central America in the 1970s
The poufs are both filled with straw.

This square ottoman is stamped underneath with IMPFREX D-Wiesbaden. In the late 1960s/early 1970s various furniture designed by Angel Pazmino for Muebles de Estilo were imported from Ecuador into Europe.

These 2 vintage ottomans are in a used condition with visible wear and patina. Wear is consistent with its age and use, including scratches, some leather loss and one repaired rip at one site of the square pouf.
The poufs are cleanded with saddle soap and newly waxed. Ready for years of enjoyment
Angel Pazmiño, to whom these pieces are attributed, was a visionary furniture designer from Quito, Ecuador who is widely renowned for his ability to seamlessly blend traditional Ecuadorian craftsmanship with modern design principles
His passion for woodworking began at an early age, and after years of apprenticeship, he honed his craft before opening his own workshop in the 1960s, Muebles de estilo Equador.
Angel Pazmino is considered one of the greatest Ecuadorian designers of the 20th century
His designs have become true collector's items, reflecting a deep respect for his cultural heritage. His creations have been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
