Philips wood and fiberglass table lamp by Louis Kalff, 1950s
Description

The base is made of wenge wood, the shade is made of soft yellow, semi-transparent fiberglass
The fibers of this material are clearly visible, especially when the lamp is lit, which gives a unique appearance with an even light distribution and a calm image
Finished with a copper knob on top
The design is in line with the functional and progressive designs that Kalff developed in this period, with a clear focus on construction, material and lighting effect.
A beautiful, almost minimalist design with a fantastic appearance
Considering its age, the lamp is in good condition, some slight wear on the lower edge of the lampshade, see photo
This vintage lamp still has the original 2-wire wiring with switch and a European 2-pin plug, works fine and is safe to use.
