Large Antique Leather Steamer Trunk/Travel Trunk y Paul Milker

Description

Luxurious antique steamer trunk/ travel trunk made of wood and willow, covered with black canvas and leather. This Victorian trunk dates from around 1900 and was a luxury model. Due to its domed lid, it could only be used on top of other trunks.
The interior is lined with linen and includes two removable shelves. Despite its age of approximately 125 years, it is still in very good condition with normal signs of wear, see photos. The patina of age adds character and appeal.

The key is still present and lock is working. Truly unique.
The trunk has the Paul Milker label on the inside of the lid
Produced in Bucharest by the manufacturer Paul Milker, supplier to the Royal House.

In 1853, Johan Milker opened a factory and a shop for travel goods in Bucharest at Sarindar Street 8. His son, Paul Milker, took over the factory in 1878 and acquired a lot of prestige, which was evident from the medals he won at international fairs, as can be seen on the label at the inside of the lid where he won a silver medal at the Expo in Paris in 1900, with the emblem underneath that he is a supplier to the royal house.

This vintage trunk is a beautiful decorative object that can be placed in the bedroom, living room, or hallway ore the lobby of a hotel.
