This painting comes from the Yao people, an ethnic minority dating back to over two thousand years ago, with the majority of them today living in the southwest of China, in Vietnam and in Laos
These paintings are believed to take on the spirit of the gods and demi-gods depicted and must undergo a 'cleansing' ritual before being decommissioned for secular use

Good condition, with normal wear like some spots, some cracks and some paint loss
