Dutch design hand-painted earthenware, 'Rhodian' plate from Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland in Gouda

This Rhodian decor is from ca 1925 and is a quintessential Art Deco style but still strongly influenced by the jugendstil movement and by Orientalism. In a stylised floral pattern, this has been hand-painted with vibrant polychrome jewel tones in a matte glaze finish
