Birch Series Cabinet/ Secretary/ Bookcase by Cees Braakman for USM Pastoe, 1950s.
A wonderful piece from the well know ‘Birch series’ (Berkenserie) and has – the now iconic – distinctive U-shaped bent ply laced legs. Designed by Cees Braakman and manufactured in the Netherlands by Pastoe in the early 1950s.
The cabinet comes in birch veneer with solid birch edges

The lacquer finish shows signs of usage and is thin at some places. It gives a nice vintage appearance.
