5 white Selene chairs by Italian Architect Vico Magistretti for Artimide

Set of 4 white Selene chairs designed by Italian Architect Vico Magistretti for Artimide in Italy ( on the photo's you see 5 chairs but one has already been sold separatly)
These 4 chairs are made in 1969 in the first year of procuction for the furniture group Artemide because the Patent was Pending.

Made from just a single piece of compression-moulded 3 mm thick reglar (fiberglass-reinforced polyester) and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
The S-shape cross section gives the legs strenght stability and stack ability.

The shape of the elastic back rest is very comfortable. thanks to this innovative industrial production method.

In 1967 Vico Magistretti patented the principle for his ‘selene’ chair,
The Selene chair was shown in the Italian Design Exhibition in New York in 1968 and was honoured in the Compasso d’Oro competition in Milan. It also appears in the MOMA permanent design collection and the Vitra museum
